Hot dip galvanizing

High quality hot dip galvanizing services of steel structures. The factory is equipped with two automatic hot dip galvanization lines:

  • In Ukmerge city: length - 7 m; width - 1,4 m; depth - 2,5 m
  • In Siauliai city:  length - 6 m; width - 0,7 m; depth - 1 m

Unprotected steel can be seriously damaged due to such environmental factors as rain & snow, wind, and extreme temperature. Corrosion transforms steel back to its natural state of iron, which is very fragile and can prove to be deadly in structures supporting heavy pressure.

The best way to avoid corrosion is through a process called "hot dip galvanization". Hot dip galvanization is a process of heating zinc, then the metal is dipped into the zinc and truly coated to withstand corrosion for a longer period of time than that of non-coated and powder paint coated metals.

The immersion of the piece in zinc covers internal and external surfaces, edges and narrow cracks, not provided by other treatments. In addition, the hot zinc process maintains the density of the coating in edges and borders, which does not occur in other types of coating processes.

Due to the fact that it is a highly mechanical process, dot dip galvanization in main applications has a lower initial cost compared to other anti-corrosive coatings. The lower initial cost and durability makes hot dip galvanization more versatile and less expensive to protect steel and cast iron for longer periods against atmospheric corrosion.

The durability of products with undergo hot dip treatment is directly proportional to the zinc coating density and protects against aggressions to the atmosphere. It generally last 10 years in industrial environment, 20 years at the seaside, and more than 25 years in rural areas.
